Just a few images from a weeks visit to the island of flowers...
Our favourite garden of them all... Quinta do Palheiro Ferreiro, situated on a small plateau north-east of Funchal. First started in 1804, later in 1885 the estate passed to the Blandy family in 1885 - and is today owned by Adam and Christina Blandy. So many exotics - and cottage garden plants, skillfully blended in a very natural way. Lots of interesting pathways and smaller gardens with their own sense of place.
